Innumerable expeditions departed from the natural bay of Asuncion, downtown of the city, and during three and a half centuries, establishing more than 70 cities, extending from the Rio de la Plata basin up to the remote shores of the Guapay river.

Since the very foundation of the city of Asuncion on that remote day of August 15, 1537, the bay of the Very Noble and Royal City of “Nuestra Señora de la Asunción” has become the starting point of such expeditions, which were of course full of epic anecdotes waiting to be discovered.
